New Gallery Added! Hearts and Bones Complete Series 1

The sun reports: GLAM Mistresses star Sarah Parish has gone from doll to troll for the new BBC series Merlin.

Sarah, 40, said her role in the show about the mythological magician is “a very funny job”. She said: “I’m a nasty troll who turns herself into a glamorous lady of the court and seduces the head of Camelot. “She marries him and takes over Camelot.”

Sarah has already lined up another role with a medieval theme in Pillars of the Earth. The star, married to actor James Murray, has immersed herself in work as she battles against her grief over their eight-month daughter Ella-Jayne, who died from a heart defect in January. Despite her own heartache, caring Sarah finds time to help others. She supports Headway, the charity for people with brain injuries.

Thelma Parish and Sarah Parish talk. thelma parish

12-04-09 There is a short article online with an interview with Sarah and her mum. Very nice to read :)

It's the first time I've ever seen a picture of Thelma. Well, enjoy reading! http://www.womanandhome.com/articles/yourlife/relationships/310445/sarah-parish-and-her-mum.html

John Parish and Sarah Parish talk.

04-04-09 I just noticed that there is a lovely article in the Guardian about John and Sarah Parish. Actually, they just talk to eachother.

As part of PJ Harvey and John Parish's takeover of guardian.co.uk/music, John spoke to his sister Sarah – currently starring in BBC drama Mistresses – about how their upbringing and a 'fear of failure' shaped their artistic careers

You can read the article here: http://www.guardian.co.uk/music/2009/apr/02/pj-harvey-john-sarah-parish

Enjoy!

Mistresses - Sarah is a guest on BBC Breakfast.

22-2-09 Because tonight the last episode of the second series of Mistresses will be on the telly, Sarah joined BBC Breakfast this morning to talk about her character Katie. She also mentions the trip she and James made in honour of Ella-Jayne. Have a look at Breakfast website, because the clip is still online!

Also, the Sun mentioned that Sarah will be in a new ITV drama (Breaking up), but in this interview, Sarah says she wants to wait a couple of months before she starts on a new project.

Well, we'll see. :)

More screencaps coming soon! (I'm sorry for the delay)

Tragic news.

19-1-09 Ella-Jayne Murray — the 8-month-old daughter of Sarah and James - has died after succumbing to complications from a congenital heart defect.

Sarah and James were made aware of the condition while Sarah, 40, was still pregnant, and Ella-Jayne — affectionately dubbed ‘E-J’ by her parents — was ultimately born five weeks premature via emergency C-Section. The delivery was later described as “traumatic” by James, for Ella-Jayne was immediately whisked off for her first of two surgeries to repair the condition, consisting of a hole in her heart. Despite the scary circumstances of her birth, in an interview last summer James, 33, credited his daughter for giving the couple a newfound “perspective on what’s important in life.” He went on to add,

“You can never plan anything in life, and never take anything for granted.”

Ella-Jayne died at her parents’ Hampshire, England, home last week. The couple are said to be ”devastated” by the loss, according to a statement from Sarah’s spokeswoman, who adds “it’s been very hard for them both.”

Our sincere condolences go out to James, Sarah, their friends and family. Our thoughts are with them.

  • On justgiving.com, you can make a donation in memory of Ella. Although we as fans of Sarah obviously don't know her or E-J, I'm sure a donation cannot be a problem. There are various options. Just have a look at justgiving.com or at the Friends of PICU website.

Mistresses - second series, press release!

27-01-08 The Pressoffice has just released a press pack for the second series of Mistresses which is available on their website. It's great to see that Sarah is back as Katie, and that Katie's three friends are also returning for new adventures. Just an outline of the first episode:

"Katie's suspension from practicing medicine has come to an end and she is ready for her first day as House Officer on the oncology ward, where her new boss just happens to be Jack, her old flame from medical school.

Katie has sworn off men, but it doesn't take long before she attracts the attention of Dan, a surgeon at the hospital. Reluctantly Katie gives in to Dan and invites him on a strictly platonic date to Jessica's wedding" (Source: BBC).

Mistresses is produced by Ecosse Films for BBC1

Mistresses - DVD on sale and second series!

27-2-08 The first series of Mistresses is on sale in various stores. Even better news is that there will be a secon series next year. I'll keep you posted on when and where filming starts (possibly in August).

Click on the image to find screen caps of Episode 1 and Episode 2 of Mistresses.

It seems like MIstresses is very popular. 4.9 m people (in the UK) watched the first episode. The opening hour-long episode held a largely steady audience throughout but couldn't quite match the channel's slot average for last year of 5m (21.4%). The show though only aired in England and Wales. It airs in Scotland on Friday at the same time.

The five-part drama from Ecosse Films was a big hit with upmarket ABC1 viewers with 51.6% of the show's audience coming from that demographic.

Mistresses failed to appeal to younger viewers though with just 17.7% of its audience aged between 16 and 34. The weighted average age of the viewer was 50.

The show had a strong attraction for women. 64% of the drama's audience were female. (Source: broadcastnow.co.ul)

Sarah and James are expecting their first child :)

27-12-07 Various sources confirm that Sarah is pregnant. Such happy news :) "The 39-year-old actress, who married Primeval star James Murray, 33, in December, will give birth in the summer, according to the Daily Mirror.

A spokeswoman told the newspaper Sarah is 'delighted'.

It seems the actress has already been spotted happily showing off her bump while out shopping for maternity clothes near her London home."

sarahThe new and improved SarahParish.nl!!

21-12-08 Dear everyone, as you may have noticed, this website hasn't been updated for a long long time. Life got in the way, really, but now the site is back! The new lay-out may be something you have to get used to, but I hope you all think it's an improvement. Please keep emailing me at myrthe@sarahparish.nl if you have any comments or suggestions. Of course you can also sign the guestbook if you like. Well, I hope you will all keep visiting, because without you all this site would be totally useless! Kind regards, Myrthe, webmistress.

sarah100.000 visitors!!! Thanks for visiting :)

10-08-08 Over 100.000 people have visited this website. It's a great honour to see that so many people take an interest in Sarah's career and therefore visit this website. Over the years, I've had many encouraging responses and I'm glad to see that you all think that this website is a good resource of information about Sarah. Hopefully you will all keep visiting and contributing. So, thank you so much for visiting SarahParish.nl

sarahGuestbook is back online!

17-12-07 As you may have noticed the guestbook has been offline for some time. I apologise for not fixing it any sooner. Messages posted in the old guestbook will be online shortly, but for now there is a whole new place for you to leave your comments! You can find it on the website (click here) or online elsewhere if your browser does not support frames.

Sarah Parish Hurrah! 1st birthday of this website!

12-07-06 Exactly one year ago this website went online. I'd like to thank everyone who has visited this website and especially those who have emailed me with kind comments about the website and those who have taken the time to sign the guestbook or send me additional information/pictures. It's great to see how more and more people find this fansite and keep coming back to check for updates. I'd never expected this many visitors, although perhaps I should have since Sarah is of course a great actress with lots of fans! Also, I'd like to apologise to those who use Firefox and not IE. Although the texts are legible in Firefox, the design is sloppy. I do want to change this, but you'll have to be patient because I do not have a lot of time and I'm not a professional webdesigner so adjusting the website isn't that easy for me...Well, I hope I'm forgiven for all the other errors on the site as well and I hope you'll continue to watch all films and series Sarah's in and check back here every once in a while...Cheers, M
